Hyunseo Cho is an artist who explores the relationship between data, digital environments, and human identity. Her work explores the possibility of reconfiguring digital systems as sensory and interactive interfaces, allowing individuals to become subjectively aware of their structure. In particular, she focuses on transforming digital environments into tangible and sensory experiences by deconstructing data consumption algorithms and translating them into three-dimensional simulations. Recently, she has been focusing on building a materialised library that uses local environments, AI, and physical simulation techniques to archive dispersed or excluded data and function as an open-source platform.
In addition to her individual practice, Hyunseo co-founded the artist collective TAKA and its open studio space SAKA, where she leads workshops, exhibitions, and collaborative projects exploring the intersections of media art and technology.
Her work has been recognized as an outstanding project by the Arko Art & Technology Convergence program and exhibited at venues including the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art, Gwangju Biennale, Paradise Art Festival, and Walking with Friends Gallery. She holds a BFA in Communication Design from Konkuk University in Seoul and has participated in residencies at GlogauAIR (Berlin) and PADA (Portugal). She has also served as an adjunct professor in VFX at Hoseo Arts College.
